Yiu Lian Adopted another High Value-Added Product in Offshore Field. Started with corporation of FSO Ba Vi which is in benign process in our shipyard, Vietsovpetro has specially designated Jack-up Rig Cuulong to Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) ltd. Compared with other rigs’ conversion, the repair of Cuulong poses lots of new requirements in various aspects. Featured in its own complex function, Cuulong brings about a large number of auxiliary items, especially in the purchasing respect. Different from former cases which are managed by ship owners, this time our project team is responsible for purchasing all sorts of spare parts and materials. Taking high pressure tube for example, because of its special components, we have to spend much time to search for the most suitable supplier and strictly check its certificates. Good preparation is half done. Our shipyard holds this principle all the time. The repair of Cuulong mainly contains conversion of accommodation with the working area of more than 1,000m2, tank coating amounting to 63,000 m2 etc. What we should pay great attention to is sand blasting. As the leg reaches126m high, our staging height should be over 80m in accordance, which is undoubtedly hard to solve. Drawing on the wisdom of masses, we have overcome the purchasing problem. At present the whole project is being carried out in all directions.
