Shanghai Offshore Petroleum Bureau of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (referred to as "Sinopec Corp.") which is one of the largest integrated energy and chemical company in China, sent rig Kantan 3 to Mazhou Island to carry out conversion. As the first domestic semi -submersible platform designed and constructed by ourselves, Kantan 3 berthed alongside Yiulian No.2 wharf on Feb. 26th. Aiming at upgrading, the conversion mainly contains widening the bottom pontoon and sponson column, repair of top drive system, renewal of diesel engine and high pressure piping system. In the beginning Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) Ltd. pay high attention to the project by monitoring the personnel deployment, management of supply chain and the work flow. All departments are required to collaborate together and strengthen the communication so as to take measures in advance. Since former repair in 2007, the second cooperation between Sinopec and China Merchants Group is just the best proof of our own quality control and professional service. On the offshore repair market, we are also endeavoring to heading for the world class.
